Recomendations 2010 ML300 Radio replacement

Hi everyone. The factory unit is troublesome with phone connectivity and poor functionality compared with standards for 2021. My question is am I risking anything if i fit an aftermarket double din unit ? I assume that a few of the OEM functions will be lost, and is this something that I should consider ??
