I have a 1992 500SL. As with many R129s, the sun visor mounts are cracking and so I've been inspecting what needs to be replaced... and I found something weird, to me.
On the driver's side up on the header, and behind the sun visor, there is a small hole in the header. Coming out of the hold is what looks like a phone cord. The cord hangs out and at the end is a clear plastic phone jack (or what looks like it?)
What is this?
