I have a 1996 W210 E220D, and the central locking just stopped working. When I use the key to close/open the car, the red/green lights blink, just as they are supposed to, but the doors do not lock or unlock. I also tried to use the console button and it does not work, which led me to try the headrests button that is not working as well.
Just a final note: if I use the pins to close the doors manually, they work and the passenger door lock also works with the metal key.
