I've got an '83 240D 4 speed with a faint coolant smell in the cabin. First thought is heater core right? Well, the odd part is that is only seems to be coming from the center vent, and is stronger (which isn't very strong) when the passenger side heat control is turned up. I get no coolant smell from the 2 outboard dash vents, floor vents, or the defrost vent, and no steaming or fogging of the glass. Just a faint smell from the center...
