ABS ESP Screen Flash while driving 07 221

2007 s550 rwd Center screen will flash to black for half second, like a reset or reboot while driving - definitely catches you off guard the first time - engine continues to run but message flashed saying that ABS and ESP are temporarily unavailable - some play in steering wheel too when it happens at lower speeds. any ideas? i'm a novice so any help is appreciated! thank you
