Hi all,
I have an older 2004 diesel X5. I love her to bits but she is about to clock over to 400 000km and is starting to have some gearbox issues. She has served me well over the last 300 000km - my daily drive and weekend tow vehicle for the horses. On retirement she will become my luxury farm truck (fully enclosed)!
I've started the search and I am a bit lost. I could go either diesel, or petrol. I don't drive as much as I used to so running cost is not much an issue. I am looking at 2009-2012 with around the 80 - 100 000km as that is around my price range. I have also looked at the X6 as well. I don't tow as much any more either. Hubby has a E92 but I prefer the feel of the X5 both on the road and to drive. Anything I should look out for? Better years? Better engine models? Reliability is most important to me (next to heated seats). Hubby does all the repair work on our cars so while cost is not such a big issue its a pain if the car is off the road.
Plenty of time to research as I'm in lock down due to COVID19 so all information would be greatly appreciated!
