Got a 03 SL55 and the soft close didn't work on the trunk. I could hear the motor running. Checked the trunk latch assembly and it looks like it's been replaced with a new unit. Unhooked the air line on the latch assembly and discovered that there was no air flow when the pump was running. Took the PSE out thinking I would find the infamous broken vanes but no. I did however notice that the metal collar the vane center sits on spins on the motor shaft which leads me to think the vanes...
