Instrument Cluster

I've decided my instrument cluster is going bad and needs to be replaced. It's doing the thing where sometimes none of the gages work and the speedometer vibrates at 0, and the frequency of occurrence is increasing. after replacing it with another one the car failed to start, what could be the problem
