Gearshift lever major problem

Hi guys, i have a GLK 220 CDI 4matic 2015 model, the problem i've been having is that i cant put the car in park with the button on the lever, i have to open the door to get it in park everytime and when im driving and coming to a stop it sometimes goes into park by itself before the car has even stopped and i hear an awful clicking noise (not a grinding noise), lever works fine for shifting from P to D, R or N and it shows no fault codes. thoughts?
