Differential Oil Change.

Hi ,,I just completed the changing of the oil in the diff of my 2005 CLK55..and made a couple of puzzling (to me ) observations.... 1. When I drained the oil it had an opaque ,almost milky appearance. I left it sit in the drain pan for 24 hours ,,and when I poured it into bottles it no longer had the milky colour ,,just a dark looking oil colour . 2. I measured carefully the oil drained and it came to 1.1 litres. But it took 1.4l to fill it to the level of the fill hole. The car was level... Differential Oil Change.
