07 e350 radio issues

radio powers on but you guessed it no sound. Probably 50% of the time it works. I have tried taken the fuses out and back in and it worked a few times but the last few days nothing. When it works its a great sound system but in Mercedes over thinking of everything they runined a other wise nice system. Just looking for places to start investigating. thanks
